Our Community Commitments

EcoLeague

EcoleagueEcoLeague is our Canadian corporate program in partnership with Learning for Sustainable Future.

The program is designed to educate elementary school students on the importance of caring for environment.   EcoLeaue advances sustainability in the curriculum by sponsoring educational forums where teachers and students learn about sustainability projects they can bring back to their school.  Schools then develop a program that Cadbury colleagues will provide the arms and legs for through our colleague volunteer program that gives each colleague two work days a year to devote to volunteer activity.

EcoLeague™:

  • challenges and motivates elementary students across the country to help save the planet through community and school-based environmental action projects focusing on issues that affect you!
  • assists teachers in meeting curriculum expectations through highly engaging and environmentally-focused learning activities.
  • engages community organizations and volunteers to work with schools in understanding the issues and supporting their action projects.

Cadbury Gladstone Chocolate Factory School Tours (Toronto Only)

Every year we welcome over 10,000 elementary school children to our Gladstone chocolate factory in Toronto - the home of Cadbury chocolate.  It is here that they learn the art of making great chocolate - we call it Chocology!  The tour also explores the rich history of the Cadbury family, the importance of community engagement and of course a little tour of the chocolate facility tops it off.  The tour program is available from September to June.  If your school is interested, please contact the Gladstone Factory Tour Program at (416) 530-4055, Extension 530-3571.

Trick or Treat for UNICEF: Schools for Africa Program

Building Schools with UNICEFFrom coast to coast, Canadians have grown up with UNICEF as part of the Halloween season.  The traditional orange donation boxes have evolved over the years, but the wonderful work of UNICEF remains as important as ever before.  Cadbury has pledged to raise awareness for UNICEF's Schools for Africa program through dedicated space on over 4 million Halloween treats and other advertising and promotional avenues. The money raised through Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF will go toward building schools, ensuring quality water and sanitation facilities, providing school supplies and training teachers in Rwanda and Malawi.
